Self-Love Check-In!
4 Ways to get more self-love in today.
HELLOOOOO MID-WEEK, self-love check-in!
Sometimes we all need a little reminder to love ourselves, so here I am, reminding you to take care of YOU, TODAY.
Hopefully, yes hopefully you have your daily rituals in place to cultivate a positive mindset, healthy body and calm emotions, but, if you don't here are some ways you can get a bit more self-lovin' in your day without a whole lot of preparation.
1. Take a moment to journal...Yes, journal!!
Five minutes of quality time in the morning to write down all that is running around in your mind. Write it and write it word for word.
Don't worry about your grammar, spelling, sentence structure. Just get it out and let it all be scribbled on paper. Also, don't tell me you don't have 5 minutes. Get off Instagram and Facebook now and do it. LOL! Wait! Read the post first, then do it. LOL. The benefits: Our minds are so busy with many thoughts that getting it out on paper helps us to see it and really "hear" ourselves. The process of writing gives us a chance to clear more space in our heads for better and more positive thoughts! You'll be surprised the crap that comes out...
2. Take your time...Stop rushing.
Yes, YOU, I'M TALKING TO YOU!
If you are waffling off more than three essential tasks to do today, then you need some help with prioritising and time-management.
Here is how you can get more time back:
First, get a piece of paper and make four columns. On the left column, list all the things you need to do.
At the top of 2nd column, write CRITICAL.
At the top of the 3rd column, write TOMORROW.
In the 4th column, write DELEGATE. Now, you can only have a maximum of 3 Critical things to fit in today and stick to it. Critical means, do or die, such as pay the bill that was due last week. A presentation that is due tomorrow, or some other deathly task where the consequences are dire, not some self-imposed expectation like buying that dress from ZARA for no particular reason. Take care of the critical stuff first, so you aren't stressing about everything else!
3. Take the time to prepare your meals...
There is nothing better than taking the time to nourish yourself and nourish yourself well. Choose natural ingredients you love that is wholesome, rich in taste, full of flavours and natural colours (veg/fruit). And don't tell me you can't cook or are a lousy cook and you prefer to Uber Eats your way to Self-Love. There is no Self-Love in food made by a machine or made without a LOVING human touch. I'm sure you can Google a recipe that you like, and it doesn't even have to be complicated. I would LOVE TO SEE YOUR PHOTOS so kindly tag me on Facebook or Instagram story or hashtag #lifecoachjoannelovetips or #lifecoachjoanne for a repost.
4. Get ready slow and add 30 minutes to your self-care routine!
An extra 30 minutes on your self-care routine can give you the time you need to look after yourself, extra carefully! Take the time to go for a walk with your favourite music playing in your earphones, or take the time to massage your feet, do a body-scrub, apply your extra favourite body-lotion, put extra care into your make-up application, file your nails, choose and match your jewellery with your outfit, or even light a candle or incense and meditate.
If you don't know how to meditate and you have an extra 10 minutes to spare, think about all the awesome things you have done this week that have made you feel good. Don't forget to thank yourself for that excellent experience!
Bringing your attention to the positive lifts your mood and changes your vibration. Take mental notes of what you enjoyed and plan to do more of it!
Self-love is practical, and it doesn't take much to do it right. All you need is your willingness, your time and attention for an excellent result that equates you to live better, happier and freer!
